Chapter Text
“Ava!” I yelled, knocking loudly on my roommate's bedroom door. “If you plan on getting a ride to school today, I suggest you wake the fuck up!”
I leaned against the door, listening for a few seconds and not hearing anything in response. I banged on the door again for good measure.
“I’m not kidding, Ava!”
“Shut up, Sofie!” she yelled back and I smirked, leaving her door to walk out to the kitchen.
I heard singing coming from the kitchen as I walked towards it, the low sound of the radio playing underneath. I raised an eyebrow as I glanced over at the couch, seeing a strange guy I didn’t know passed out on it, just a simple white sheet resting low on his hips.
“Good morning, sunshine,” Emma, my other roommate, greeted as I walked in the room.
“Why are you cooking bacon without pants on?”
“Because who the fuck needs pants?” she shrugged, cracking an egg in a bowl and I laughed, cocking an eyebrow at her. “No pants party!”
“You’re going to burn yourself,” I informed her, grabbing a cup and pouring coffee in it.
“Nah,” she shook her head, scrambling the eggs and looking up at me with a grin.
I noticed the hickeys on the side of her neck and chuckled as I poured the mocha creamer in my coffee.
“So, are you making us all breakfast because you got laid last night?”
“No, I’m making you all breakfast because I love you,” she corrected, flipping the bacon and cursing as some of the grease splattered on her.
“Does this have anything to do with the naked guy sleeping on our couch?”
“Of course not,” she said with a smirk and I rolled my eyes.
“You should probably get dressed soon. We have class in an hour and a half,” I warned her and she nodded. “And you might wanna get your friend up soon.”
“Just throw a blanket over him. I’ll get to him eventually,” she said, waving her hand and I laughed.
I carried my coffee into the living room, seeing the guy had not only woken up, but was getting dressed. The blood rushed to my cheeks as my eyes settled on his bare ass, averting my eyes so he didn’t think I was staring at him. He stretched his arms above his head as he looked for his shirt, turning around and giving me a half smirk.
“Hey,” he greeted, voice husky with sleep.
I felt my cheeks flare up ever brighter, gripping my coffee cup and looking away after making contact with his warm brown eyes. The boy was extremely attractive, and currently standing half-naked in front of me with sex hair left over from his one night stand with my best friend and roommate.
I moved to leave the awkward situation when I found Ava walking down the hallway, giggling as she walked with a tall, dark haired boy’s arm slung around her shoulders.
“Good morning, Sofie,” she grinned, giving me a wink and I cocked an eyebrow.
“Morning, Ave,” I answered, giving her a curious look, but she only grinned bigger.
“Mm, is that coffee I smell?” the guy from the couch asked as straightened out his t-shirt over his torso. “You mind, doll?”
“No time, bro. We gotta go,” the boy with his arm around Ava said, nodding towards our front door.
“Fine, but we’re stopping to get some and you’re paying,” the kid answered him and the dark haired boy nodded.
“Yeah, yeah,” he said before grabbing Ava’s hand, pinning her to the wall with a cheeky grin. “And I’ll definitely be calling you later, gorgeous.”
“Mm, I can’t wait,” she said, resting one hand on his chest before standing on her tiptoes to kiss his lips.
They made out for a few seconds before his friend shoved his shoulder, pointing towards the door.
“C’mon, Jack. We gotta go,” he said in a mocking voice and Jack nodded, pecking Ava’s lips one more time before letting her go.
The two boys left and Ava shut the door behind them before turning around and grinning widely at me.
“So, maybe it’s been a few days since I’ve seen him, but that definitely didn’t look like David,” I said, settling a hand on my hip and raising my eyebrows as I looked at her.
“Oh, that definitely wasn’t David,” she said, smirking to herself.
“Ava!”
She rolled her eyes, grabbing my wrist and tugging me into the kitchen.
“It’s not that big of a deal, Sofie. It was one night. I’ll probably never see Jack again.”
“So what about your boyfriend?”
“He doesn’t have to know,” she said and I shook my head.
“You’re terrible.”
“Breakfast is served, bitches!” Emma yelled, carrying in plates full of bacon, eggs, and pancakes.
“Why isn’t Em wearing pants?” Ava questioned and I giggled.
“Because you’re both giant whores.”

“Sophia!” I heard someone sing out, looking to my side to see my best friend Brendon standing there.
“You know that’s not my name,” I said, hearing him laugh.
“I know. But it’s a lot easier to sing than Sophie. It rolls off the tongue,” he said and I rolled my eyes.
“So how was your day, Bden?” I asked as he took a seat across from me, making a face.
“Um, let’s see. I failed my History of Jazz exam,” he explained and I shook my head.
“Doubt it,” I said and he nodded insistently.
“No, I bombed it. Trust me.”
“You probably got like a 99.2%. Shut up.”
“I’ll let you know when I get the score back,” he said and I nodded.
“Of course. So Adam called me earlier and said he found me someone to tutor,” I said and he nodded.
“Ooh. Exciting. When do you start?”
“Today, actually. In like, twenty minutes,” I answered.
“Fun. What subject?”
“Chemistry.”
“You hate Chemistry,” Brendon reminded me and I nodded.
“I know. But I didn’t have much of a choice. It was either teach the kid Organic Chemistry or continue not having anyone.”
“Yeah, and you’re not getting paid to not have anyone.”
“Right,” I nodded, opening up my water bottle and taking a sip. “Anyway. I should head over to the library to meet my new tutee.”
“Have fun!” he said, faking excitement and I laughed.
“Thanks! I’ll try,” I said, giving him a hug before slinging my bookbag over my shoulder and walking away.
After about five minutes I got to the library, taking a seat on one of the benches and pulling out my phone as I waited for the kid to show up. I scrolled through my phone, making sure to keep myself alert so I knew when he would arrive. I waited fifteen minutes, realizing that he obviously wasn’t going to get there until the designated meeting time.
It wasn’t until a half hour after I got there that I noticed a guy walk into the lobby, standing and glancing around as if he was looking for someone. I sighed, standing up and walking over to him.
“Are you Alex?” I asked as I approached him.
“Yeah, are you-” he turned to me and gave me a grin that made my stomach somersault. “Oh, hey. You’re the girl from this morning. You must be Sofie.”
And of course, the student I had been chosen to tutor was none other than the naked guy from my couch.
