Etho covered his face with an arm to block out the light. “...Thanks,” he muttered. “I feel terrible.” Cleo had to stifle a laugh at how muffled and pathetic his voice sounded.
Alright, whatever’s going on with me can wait. Etho’s suffering seems worse.

Tommy carefully laid down, mindful of his shoulder that was throbbing with pain. The arrow head had gotten stuck when he'd pulled the arrow out. He'd tried to get the arrowhead out but he didn't have much luck while running from the things that had put it in him.
He sighed weakly, his stomach rumbling loudly. He hoped he could find some food, and soon. He was absolutely starving, and he really didn't want to die from starvation of all things. That would just be embarrassing.
