They, too, have an argument, because Dorothy is sure that the coworker who asked for Rose’s help with the party, is only taking advantage of her kindness. Rose walks into the community center, while Dorothy can only wait at the cafe across from the building.
The story takes place in Miami, a couple of years after the failed Armageddon in the book timeline (early 90’s).
