Summary
John had been elusive for weeks, obviously trying to hide the fact that something was going on. When everything finally comes to a head, Bruce, unthinkingly, decides that he's going to have John stay with him in the manor. Unwilling, or maybe unable, to let him out of his sight.
While John seems excited enough, despite the situation, there's an undercurrent of tension to the abrupt shifting of their relationship.
It doesn't help that he's started paying much more, and much different attention to John than he means to.

Bruce pays as little attention to one John Doe as he can. He can't get a hold on the other man, and doesn't want him getting too close, or too in the way of the work he's trying to do to stop everything that was happening.
Bruce pays John little attention. But Batman can't stop himself from reaching out when he finds him having trouble while on patrol, the urge to help too deep set.
