传说他们是亵渎了神明的邪恶存在，是丧失了生命的怪物，所以他们难以在带来生命的太阳之下行走，而每当深夜来临之时，他们就会从黑暗中现身，夺走生命之源来满足自己对生命的渴求。
100年前，有一个吸血鬼杀死了为非作歹400年的同类，然后带着他重要的人消失在众人面前，从此世间流传着关于这一切的传说。100年后，在这个“黑暗”散去的世界之中，那个英雄的同伴踏上了寻找英雄的旅途。在经历了一系列的冒险之后，他们终于得以重逢。
然而，一个来自地狱的恶魔给英雄带来了一封邀请函，在那之后他便“看见”了一些熟悉且奇怪的幻觉。为了寻找真相并破除幻觉，他和她顺着指引来到了特兰西瓦尼亚的一座城堡中。
