when the monsters finally were freed from the underground, the humans were outraged, though that was to be expected, humans tend to be afraid and disgusted by things the don't understand, and they didn't know the whole story, And the monsters were wary and cold towards humans due to this.
therefore, the tension between humans and monster remained at a constant high.
Y/N was a human who wanted to understand. At first they were wary of monsters, they didn't hate them, they knew that at a lot of the things humans say about them are probably wrong, but they never really knew or not, so they were overly anxious around them, especially with a SOUL defect already making them anxious. until an event with a monster makes it clear to them that human bias is true sin, and that it was time to be open their mind and change.
