Rumi touched her fingers to her ribs. She could feel the heat radiating from her skin, even through her clothes. A distant, miserable part of her said, this is going to hurt.
She pushed her fingers down.
The rib shifted.
The thing about telling one very big lie is that it requires a foundation of hundreds of smaller lies to hold it up, lies such as "I'm fine," and "nothing's broken," and "it doesn't hurt."
Rumi finds this out the hard way.

This is a hurt/comfort fic that does the hurt really well, and then the comfort part rewrites your brain. Honestly this author is a master of this trope, all of their works are just excellent.

Celine tells her that it would be over because they’d kill her, that they would use their weapons against her, but all Rumi hears is that it’d be over because they would stop loving her and maybe that would kill her before their blades ever could.
Rumi has always kept a tight leash on herself—until her control starts to slip.

This is a crazy good fic with a Rumi who suffers from dissociation, it starts slow and starts getting really good around chapter 8. This one and so we were liars are in my top 10 of this fandom, and this fandom has amazing gems.

Draco Malfoy and the Mortifying Ordeal of Being in Love
isthisselfcareI went back to my roots and read some fics for one of the first ever pairings I ever read, this was incredible. It was romantic of course, but the sense of adventure, the world building, the research that was done so that the things Hermione said sounded appropriately smart? I'm suitably impressed.
I will give this a reread at some point, this author must be published, or someone who has been writing for years, otherwise I can't believe someone just being this good.

For once in her life, Rumi wants to be selfish.
Or: HUNTR/X works towards sealing the Honmoon and falls in love along the way. Pre-reveal Rumi, hiding both her patterns and her wants, loves her girls in whatever way she can until she's free (whether that means shielding Mira and Zoey in fights or pretending to be something she's not). She just has to hold out until the Honmoon’s golden. Straightforward enough, right?

It's incredible how much good stuff it's going on here. The buildup to the inevitable crash (that's much worse than I ever expected!) really made the recovery afterward worth it. I love fluff and prefer it to be 50/50 with the angst, but both are so good here that I don't mind.
Already did 3 reads and I will probably reread it again in the future.
