Dex had to admit, he was kind of enjoying this.
The firm squeeze of Matt’s grip on his shoulder shoving him forward, the soft growl of his voice cursing his existence, the fire spreading up his side replacing the noise in his head—all of it drove Dex higher until he was floating above his body.
A hysterical giggle threatened to wriggle its way out from underneath his fractured ribs. The two of them—sworn enemies—forced to work together for the sake of the grand design. This was perfect. This was poetic. This was….
