In a last ditch effort to clean the slate, to erase the apocalypse and downfall of humanity, the last two humans on earth give up even that to go back to the past and prevent the end before Madara can get the ball rolling. Now between scheming to create a better future, lying about their identities, and coping with the knowledge neither really falls neatly into the definition of human anymore, they also have to come to grips with their feelings for one another while finding their place in the past.

Some take it too far, spanning multi-generational gaps and, therefore, interests and ideology. Sometimes, everything works out: developed brains, similar priorities, healthy power balance, etc. That doesn’t mean that the difference in years can’t be startlingly apparent at times.

The reminder gives him goosebumps. He turns his attention to the thirty-year-old, sitting curled up on the couch and barely paying attention. Instead, he’s mostly focused on a Stark tablet– one that is sure to have the doctor’s neurological cases lined up to peruse.
