Cause Barnes might have just single-handedly destroyed seven heavily harmed Hydra soldiers, thus saving Sam’s hide, but he still looked a very far cry from the unstoppable force he’d been on that bridge in DC: in the fluorescent light that filtered from the entrance through the vines, his paleness had taken a sickly yellow shade and his eyes were fever-bright and a thousand miles away; no way in hell he was in any condition to siege a Hydra base on his own, super-soldier or not. Probably not even with Sam’s help, but since he doubted he could make the former assassin change his mind, going in together was their best option.
