Summary
Mor is one of the five Aspects of Death. She works alongside Melancholy, Oblivion, Solace and Ferryman to help people pass on. Her job is to free immortals, who cannot die by any other means, from the shackles of life when their time comes. One day, when an eccentric man named Zayne seeks her aid, she finds she has her work cut out for her. Zayne, ignored by reapers since time immemorial, is the only living being who should never be allowed a true death. Because to kill him is to free him. She pressed herself flatter against the wall, willing the shadows to keep her. From the angle of the arch she could see the faint spill of lamplight growing along the floor, the way it shivered with each step he took.
