The suspension bridge effect refers to the phenomenon where sexual attraction increases under conditions of high anxiety. Maybe that’s why Simon feels such a connection to the man who saved him from dying in a tomb his fellow man put him in to punish him for a crime he never committed. Maybe that’s why he’s so protective of his savior. His angle. Despite the situation, he finds himself in a state only slightly better than what he once was. But those emotions often fade with time, which begs the question: Is the love between the two men real, or will it fade out like the stares Simon once knew?
On Grace’s journey to Erid, Rocky and he run into what could only be described as a submarine. The most surprising thing, though, was that inside was a wounded man on the verge of death. Not able to turn away from someone in need, Grace brings him on the ship with no idea how important he will become to the man he saved.

He smiles, before stepping out and closing the hatch. He walked away as his mind started moving again. His eyes caught the glare of Rocky's xenonite suite as the Eridian barreled towards him. "Grace, Grace okay, question? Could hear heart. Grace not okay." He chuckled. "Care to sit at home with me for a bit?" Grace and Rocky have already saved the world once—time to get back to work and do it again. This time, science might not save them, but maybe friendship will still do the trick.

Eighteen Earth-months ago Rocky arrived home on Erid after saving the stars with a quirky alien in tow. Grace The Saviour soon settled down on Erid, kitted out with his own biosphere, and happily using his foreign knowledge to enlighten the Eridian masses who chose to become his students. Things were good for Grace--really good.
Then a crew of Eridian scientists performing a routine check of the solar system, monitoring how the astrophage is responding to the taumoeba, come across something especially unusual. Inexplicably, they find a displaced cluster of astrophage floating through deep space, alarmed to realise that the microbes seem to be feeding on the radiation emanating from a crudely-constructed ship of some kind, bound together by a strange organic material. Even more alarming was when they sensed *life* inside of it--*human* life.
