Summary
Rivet looks forward to Christmas like anyone else, not the easiest thing to do when in a rebellion against a robot crazy tyrant, but one does what one must. Anyway, her favorite traveling scientist who bears the title of Uncle to everyone he meets has taken refuge on Sargasso for a few days due to a very bad run in with some pirates. Upon Rivet helping him with his ship she gets her Christmas presents early, and when she finally gets to open them later that night she's baffled by the contents and the extremely vague explanations that come with the two of them. A big piece of Phase Quartz and a small robot missing an arm. Adventure is afoot and it comes for the Lombax whether she wanted it to or not. No, literally, she gets abducted and flung into a world that is similar but extremely different to her own. Will she find her way back? Only time will tell...

Being born in the mists of the Corvids, a lombax mafia clan who worships the generational bond between black-pelted lombaxes and corvids, Rivet’s childhood wasn’t a nice one. She was abused by the whole clan and cruelly named “Curse” at birth by the leader, Corvus Crowingheart, her father - all because she had white fur due to leucism. Any fur colour other than black is seen as an ill omen to the Corvids and they do everything in their power to make sure she feels like she doesn’t belong among them. After 7 years of torment, Rivet escaped and sought refuge at Sargasso, where its residents took her under their wing without hesitation. But 13 years later, a now adult Rivet and her best friends, Ratchet, Clank and Kit stumbled upon a teenage lombax kit, who was injured from the Craigmite problem going on recently, Rivet has to face her past once again… when she realises that the Corvids have joined forces with the Cragmites, all led by her father. Now Rivet has two choices: to keep running or to face it head-on with the people who genuinely care for her.
