Green eyes gaze back at Steve. Claws, sharp and capable of slashing open his throat should they choose to, stroke ever so gently across his cheek.
Around them, the forest seems to pause, holding its breath, the trees waiting.
Eddie leans down. Presses his lips to Steve's; brief, chaste.
Surprised, Steve's breath kicks from his lungs. Eddie's lips are warm and soft on his own chapped ones, but he's pulling away all too soon.
Steve wants more.

Summary
Steve Harrington has been able to heal wounds through touch his whole life, something he inherited from his mother. His parents forbid Steve from using this power, worried someone would find out. Steve had a secret though. One he didn’t even dare tell his mother: Steve didn’t need to touch to heal. He didn’t even need to be in the same city. Connecting with people through what he called the Dark place, Steve was able to take on others' wounds, healing from afar. At eleven years old, he was hiding his true self from everyone he knew, even himself. Only connecting with another young boy named Eddie kept him sane.
When the Upside Down reared its ugly head, Steve had to learn how to leave his pretend life behind and embrace the person he wanted to be.
